BlueScope Steel has owned a 50 percent share in the North Star BlueScope Steel Mini-Mill at Delta, Ohio, since 1995. Our partner, North Star Steel, operates seven mini-mills in the US, making it the second largest mini-mill steel company in the country and the eighth largest steel company overall.

The combined experience of the partners, together with state-of-the-art technology, has made the Delta mini-mill a leading local producer of hot band. Our success is built on delivering value to our customers. North Star BlueScope Steel has set industry standards for quality, on-time delivery and customer service.

The mill is strategically located in the heart of the flat rolled market, with ready access to raw material scrap.

Our business plan is to continue to invest in proven technology to ensure a low cost, superior hot rolled product.

BlueScope Steel acquired Butler Manufacturing in April 2004. Butler is the leading designer and producer of pre-engineered steel building systems (PEBs).

Butler has number one market positions in North America and China. It is a long-established business with strong, well recognised brands and excellent design and technical capabilities.

The Butler business enables BlueScope Steel to further our strategy of increasing our proportion of high value-added products and providing inspired solutions, particularly for the building and construction industry.
